Prerequisites

Each exchange has a different process for changing position modes. Some exchanges allow you to change the mode for all symbols at once, while others require it to be done individually for each symbol.

Remember:

You need to ensure that the bot mode and the exchange symbol mode are set to the same position mode, either one-way or hedge mode.

Different Types of Position Modes

  1. One-Way Mode

    • This mode allows you to have only one side of a position open, either long or short, but not both simultaneously. Placing an opposite-side order for a currently open position will usually act as a reduce-only order for the open position.

  2. Hedge Mode

    • This mode allows you to trade both long and short positions at the same time.
